Celebrate the sea and learn how to prepare for potential coastal emergencies.

10:30am: Mermaid Event/ Book Signing - Nature Center

11:00am: Poseidon on Display
Throughout the event, watch local artist George Zaiser create a sand sculpture that captures the essence of our Poseidon Festival.

Noon – 6:00pm: Live Mermaid Tank
See a live mermaid on display in her very own tank! Watch interactive mermaid performances throughout the day including live cracking of pearl oysters to be given to the first 50 guests.

1:00 – 5:00pm: Pirates on the Plaza
Get up close and personal with Captain Cortez and his troupe of plunderers as they lure you into the Golden Age of Piracy. See live sword demonstrations and learn about the ways of pirate life in exciting swashbuckling shows throughout the day. Come dressed as a pirate or mermaid for your chance to win prizes in our costume contest and be crowned Mr. and Ms. Poseidon. There will be plenty of photo opportunities.

3:00pm and 4:30pm: Sons of Pirates
Sometimes billed as a Jimmy Buffett tribute act, this beach party band also plays hits by Bob Marley, Zac Brown, and more. Be ready for dancing and fun participation!

3:30pm - 4:00pm: "Sword School"

4:00pm: Pirate Photos and Activities

4:30pm - 5:30pm: Sons of Pirates Band

5:30pm – 9:00pm: Emergency Meet and Greet
Learn from the local experts how to prepare for a potential coastal emergency. Meet and greet our Town lifeguards, police, and fire personnel. See the Town Mobile Command Center and water rescue vehicles up close.

7:00pm: Signing of Sunset beach at Bethany beach Books

7:30pm: Chris Sacks Band
This band is best defined as a swirling mixture of red-blooded American music blended with the blue seawaters of the Caribbean. Captain Quint fans will know Chris as a former member. He has since opened for national acts such as Michael Ray, Joe Diffie, Lorrie Morgan, Pam Tillis and Mo Pitney.
