Dover International Speedway

1131 North Dupont Highway

Built from the ground up by Dover Motorsports, Inc. (NYSE: DVD), Dover International Speedway continues to be one of the most unique venues on the NASCAR circuit. The facility is known for its concrete surface, severely banked corners and signature trophies, and is a favorite amongst fans and drivers alike.

Dover International Speedway, known as the world’s fastest one-mile concrete oval, has been hosting NASCAR events since it first opened with the inaugural running of the “Mason-Dixon 300” on July 6, 1969. With a unique blend of speeds in excess of 175 mph, and banking of nine degrees on its narrow straightaways and 24 degrees in its sweeping turns, Dover has earned the nickname the “Monster Mile” for its tough nature on both man and machine.

Love the short track, intimate feel of the "Monster Mile'. The location could not be better. If you tent or RV here there are numerous dining options within walking distance. There is a very large, well-stocked supermarket within walking distance as well. The casino attached to the speedway is a great option for downtime. Dover Downs (casino as well as horse racing track) offers excellent dining options. The track is super convenient and right off the highway. Easy in and easy out. If you are close by I would highly recommend coming out to catch an event at Dover Speedway.

We visit Dover Downs Casino quite often. The slots are pretty loose, and that's a real switch from the tight local casino. The casino can get busy, but not overcrowded. We've tried to figure the night when the slots are the loosest, but we've have good experiences each time we go there.

The better seats are in the turns. Not the front stretch, because you can not see anything but the fence. The only good thing about sitting on the front stretch is just to see a burnout. You get the best bang for your buck if you sit in the turns. A great track in general to watch a NASCAR race at, if you love lots of passing and good finishes.

I wasn't at the Dover International Speedway itself but the casino mainly to dine at Frankie's Restaurant and it was above and beyond my expectations as the staff went out of their way to accommodate my wife's food allergies and prepared a dish especially for her that wasn't on the menu so she could eat and I don't know of any other establishment that would do that for you. The staff there was extremely friendly and genuinely concerned about my wife's needs and I definitely recommend patronizing Frankie's Restaurant at the Dover Downs Casino and Hotel as I would dine here again.

Wow. This place has come a long way. Now there are betting tables and open 24 hours. Monthly concerts are great. Pay out are not bad. Smoking lounge has some lots in there now. Only drawback is no free drinks while you gamble.
