In September 2008, Don and Peggy Hallowell purchased 23 acres in Greenwood, DE to start their new Christmas tree farm. They planted their first 1,000 trees on April 1, 2009 and have continued planting different varieties of trees each year. The farm has expanded over the years and now boasts 40 acres. They are active members of the Delaware Christmas Tree Growers Association.
Don is officially Retired and working full time at the farm. Peggy is a member of The Garden Gate Garden Club and The National Gourd Society. She has been making wreaths and other holiday decorations for her and her families homes for the past 30 years and is an avid gardener. All of the ornaments given with the purchase of a Christmas Tree are handmade by her.
