About:

On Route 9, three miles east of Odessa, sits a 330 acre farm known as Coleman's Christmas Tree Farm. This family owned and operated farm is well known as the place to be at Christmas time, with the largest selection of plantation-grown Christmas trees in Delaware
and large fields of U-Pick pumpkins in the fall.

But few people realize that behind those large trees on Route 9, is a summer social meeting place. A place to enjoy Woodside Farms homemade ice cream while relaxing on the shop porch enjoying the view with your friends and family. While you are socializing with your friends, your kids can play on a large playground in plain site of you.

The farm is a family farm, operated by the Coleman's since 1932. The farm has been enrolled in Farmland Preservation, so that it will always remain a farm and never be developed. The Coleman farm was a dairy farm from 1932-1951, owned and operated by William and Elizabeth Coleman. The first Christmas trees were planted in 1955, as wildlife habitats. In the mid 1960's a few trees were sold to friends and neighbors. In 1975 the small acreage alloted to trees was taken over by Jack Coleman, and the remainder of the farm continued to grow grains. By the mid 1980's the entire farm grew Christmas trees and pumpkins for sale as U-Pick. In the early 1990's the farm also started giving tours to thousands of school children every year. In 2004 an ice cream shop was added to the farm. The ice cream shop has been well received by the locals. It has become the place to meet and talk to your friends and neighbors while sitting on the porch listening to the peacocks call from the farm house. So if you need a stress-relieving evening, some delicious ice cream, and a nice, quiet place to socialize, COME TO COLEMAN'S!
