I've been coming to Henlopen for years now and each time I love it more. This is one of the most bike-friendly parks I've visited with plenty of trails to ride or walk. Rent bikes at the park for free at the nature center and take them anywhere you would like in the park for up to two hours. The beaches and the shore fishing are great as well. Plus, since you're right on the point, you can choose to visit the bay side or the Atlantic side. Each part had its own unique feel. If you've got small kids, take them to the bay: small waves, great sand, plenty of fun creatures.

Cape Henlopen State Park is wonderful. It is on the site of a former army base that was built in World War II. A lot of the fort is still there including the observation towers. They have two beaches. The most popular one is on the Atlantic Ocean. The other one is on the bay. There is also a very nice fishing pier that comes out from that beach. There is also a very nice nature center too. The campground is a little crowded but still very nice.

I love this state park both to stay and as a day trip. Their beach is clean and sandy without rocks, etc. They have a great place for shore fishing and a really nice pier with a bait shop. Lots of trails to 🐦 watch and see the lighthouse. The kids loved discovering horseshoe crabs, sand crabs, etc. Can't wait to go back!

Great park for camping, biking, and going to the beach. They've also got WWII era military museum for those interested in military history. Camp site accommodates RVs, pop ups, and offers primitive camping sites and cabins. Camp store sells camping basics. Laundry, utility sink, small playground, bathrooms and showers and miles of biking trails are among the amenities. Fire pits are well built. Friendly hosts are on duty each day.

I have been coming here for years and love it. It's close to Rehoboth if you want to drive to the boardwalk, but not as crowded. You don't have to fight for parking or remember to pay the meter every 2 hours. (You do pay an entrance fee.) There's a snack bar, bathrooms, showers, and changing rooms. People can also fish, hike and camp here. Great park with a decent amount to do on site, and even more in the area.
