Memorial Day Ceremony

The Memorial Day Ceremony will be held on Monday, May 29, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Veterans’ Memorial in Kiwanis Park, Stein Highway and Atlanta Road, Seaford.

The scheduled guest speaker for the event is Pete Bohn, 41 yr. Military service and over 40 years with SPD.

A salute and recognition will be paid to all military personnel past and present, as well as any Gold Star Mothers and families in attendance.

If inclement weather is imminent, the ceremony will be held at Seaford High School.

At approximately 1:00 P.M., both VFW Post 4961 on Middleford Road, Seaford and American Legion Post 6 (Log Cabin) on Front Street, Seaford, will be providing food. The VFW will have the food available in the pavilion behind the post.

On behalf of the Seaford Veterans Committee, consisting of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4961, American Legion Posts 6 and 37, AMVETS Post 1694, Marine Corps League Detachment 780 and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 9,  co-chairmen Joe Tune and Pete Bohn extend an invitation to the public to attend this event as the community memorializes and honors the service and sacrifices of all veterans who have or are serving this Country.
