Outdoor venue that has a variety of performances. Free Saturday morning shows targeted at kids. Not a bad seat in the house. For some shows it is bring your own chair. For others, they set up folding chairs. Freeman Stage benefits the arts on Delmarva.
Saw Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble preform here. A lovely concert that should have taken place at a larger venue. This was my first time at the Freeman Stage. I imagine it's great for smaller shows. However, this event could have been much better managed. Parking was confusing, the seats were small and cramped, the stage was barely visible from where I sat, and getting out of the Bayside neighborhood was a nightmare. I think the crowd was just too big for this venue.
It's a nice enough place, outdoors and pleasant, but the seating is just so uncomfortable it's very hard so sit through a concert. Little tiny folding chairs. A very large person sitting next to you will take half of your space. And the chairs are set up so that you're looking right at the back of someone's head. Better to sit on the lawn and bring your own favorite beach chair. You can't see the stage very well anyway from most of the seats. Also the lady who runs the place gets up before and after each concert to make a big annoying sales pitch about the freeman center.
I and the wife are regulars at upscale concerts at Bayside. We are fans but the cost and quality of beverages that Bayside provides is a major disappointment. The wine is something I would rather do without. Entertainment choices are good to very good but assigned seating is just too tight.
Great Venue to see some amazing bands. Handles the crowds well, bathroom lines are normally quick and staff are friendly and helpful.
